Larry Locke

"Born in the soul killing Texas Panhandle, I grew up with dust and
the smell of branding cattle as the inspiration for my early artwork.
At West Texas A&M, I learned that agriculture and art do not mix.
So, I headed in a new direction...imortalizing people and places on
canvas...making a little money along the way.

I relive my experiences from horseback to life in the big city through
my art.  I started with Western Art and "Cowboy Art" on canvas with
oils.  I have progressed to acrylics on various mediums and my art
can have many subjects.  My first attempt at going public was
competing against more than one thousand entries for the Critic's
Choice presented by Dallas Visual Art Center.  I was fortunate to be
one of fifty entries to win at that show.  My work has been in
numerous publications:  Metropolitan Home, D Home Magazine,
Neiman Marcus Catalog and other urban publications.  Several of
my creations have been used in homes for staging.

Creating paintings is my passion.  The interpretation is yours.
Love, lust, comedy, happiness or misery – you figure  it out.

I live in Dallas."
